About us
This Blog for those who are acronymically inclined, is alive because some of today’s top Web designers needed a place to drool and bitch about their motor vehicle obsessions. We won’t always talk about cars of course. Sometimes we will talk about trucks. Or motorcycles. Perhaps a motor-powered bicycle at some point as well.

In Car Entertainment Systems or ICE systems refer to all modern multimedia devices in vehicles that function as entertainment, recreational and utility systems. These include all audio/video and navigational devices.

Although Car Audio systems fall under this category, it will be fair to say that they also have their own separate existence.

The concept of In Car Entertainment has been around ever since the first vehicles hit the road and it has been evolving ever since. Modern ICEs comprise of highly advanced technologies and host a number of hi-tech features to make our drive a pleasurable experience.

The modern day In Car Entertainment Systems are parented by the simple Car Audio system. A Cassette Player cum Car Radio was the first member of this family. The practice of listening to one’s favorite music while driving gained quick acceptance as people realized that it can turn journeys into exciting memories. Any form of entertainment kills the boredom associated with long road journeys and the first and still the foremost type of entertainment in vehicles is listening to music.

A Car Audio system qualifies as the basic and most commonly used In Car Entertainment system. Modern Car Audio systems however do much more than just play music. They can also play music stored on various devices in various formats and pair with various other devices as well.

With advanced features like Wi-fi, Bluetooth, USB, Ipod connectivity, Steering Wheel Audio Control, Phone Connectivity, Remote Device Connectivity, TV etc., the modern Car Audio system has itself evolved into a complete entertainment system.

Audio systems in cars play music from CDs, DVDs, Cassettes and Portable Storage Devices. With advanced connectivity features, you can pair any other device like Ipod, Mobile Phone etc. with your Car Audio System and enjoy combined features like using car speakers as a handsfree device for the phone.

Smart to Drive Electric?

Unlike any other the smart car is still demanding our attention and proving that, despite being small they can keep up with the big dogs – in terms of what they offer us the consumer.

The Innovative Smart cars compact and distinguished appearance is still turning heads and triggering smiles amongst most drivers. you can even see its influence on other car manufacturers with the introduction of Toyotas IQ and the Fiat 500. Other manufacturers may be jumping on the toy car wagon but they are soon again going to be left behind. Smart are set to turn a head or two and reignite the stir that they created when they first appeared on our roads back in 1998, by introducing a new generation of the quirky roadster- soon to be available in electric! Introduced as the Smart Electric Drive.

Smarts ethos from the beginning of its life has been to get the best out of motoring while making minimal impact on the environment. (And of course, having fun while doing it.) So I expect that it comes as no surprise to most of you that the Smart journey would end up going down the electric route!

Smarts brand mission from the beginning has been to get the best out of motoring while making minimal impact on the environment. (And of course, having fun while doing it.) It was only a matter of time until their dream became a reality.

Like your favourite everyday appliances, phones, laptops, the Smart Electric Drive will need a hearty charge of 8 hours, so probably over night ideally, it will then drive for up to 84 miles before it needs hooking up to the mains again. So where’s the plug? Tucked away under the old petrol cap!

If you have a car, it is advisable to have your own tire repair tools so that you can easily fix the tire in case of minor problems such as flat tires. The pair of pliers can be used to pull out the nail on the tire tread. The jack is used to lift your car up. The wrench can be used to remove the tire. The rasp tool can be used for scraping the nail hole while the inserting tools is used for inserting the repair strings or plug strips. The rubber cement is used as an adhesive for the repair strings or plug strips.

More often than not, tire repair kits include an inserting tool, rasp tool, strands of repair strings or plug strips, and rubber cement. However, tire repair kits vary depending on how the manufacturer packs them. On the other hand, when choosing your tire repair kit, it is best to choose those that are tubeless.

A car amplifier can help you get great quality music from your car audio system with little corruption. Getting one means you can hook up a subwoofer to give your those great bass notes or get better volume from your stereo. If you are looking to install a car amp, but unsure where to start then here are the basic steps to set you on your way.

First: make sure that you have disconnected the wiring from the negative battery terminal. This is vitally important because until you have done this interfering in any way with the electrics of your car is highly dangerous.

Second: purchase an amplifier kit from a car audio supply store. These should have all the wiring necessary for your installation. Check that the wiring is the correct gauge for the power of amp that you have bought (i.e. the RMS). Once you have this kit then you should have all the equipment you need, although you will still require a pair of wire cutters and wire strippers.

Third: decide where you are putting your amp in your car. Although it is tempting to show off your new equipment, the first rule of car security is to keep anything that might be stolen out of sight. It is for this reason that many people choose to put their amps in the car boot or under a seat – like the passenger seat. This keeps them out of sight but does not make wiring in your amplifier more difficult than it has to be.

Next: you should have a red ‘live’ wire and a black ‘ground’ wire. The red wire connects to the positive (+) side of the battery and should have a fuse (of an appropriate size for your amp) within 45 centimetres, or 18 inches, of the battery. This should then run through the firewall of your car, under the carpet, to the amplifier.
