About us
This Blog for those who are acronymically inclined, is alive because some of today’s top Web designers needed a place to drool and bitch about their motor vehicle obsessions. We won’t always talk about cars of course. Sometimes we will talk about trucks. Or motorcycles. Perhaps a motor-powered bicycle at some point as well.

The Customized Truck Grilles

When you come across a truck on the highway, the first thing that you will notice is usually the truck’s grille. The grille can be a stock, making it look ordinary; or it can be an awesome custom grille, leaving other truck enthusiasts saying, “Wow!” A truck’s grille can either leave a good or bad reaction among other motorists. Custom grilles, to be exact, will add to the physique as well as looks of your truck; from worst in show to best in show, so to speak.

A grille is not just for the sake of making it look good. It really has a purpose or function. When you are driving, dirt, dust, dead birds, huge insects and other debris are flying all over the road. The grille keeps some of the huge debris from entering the engine. Anything that goes past the bumper, the grille will catch. By replacing the stock grille with a customized one, you are adding to its purpose. Now it is not just some kind of filter, it’s an awesome type of filter.

Custom truck grilles can vary in design, style, and materials that are used to make the accessory. Some of the most common materials in making custom grilles are stainless steel, chrome or billet (a type of aluminum). Some truck operators or owners may prefer the fancier powder coated, wood grain or polished finish, whichever complements the whole design of the truck best. Custom grilles can come as a single unit, or in several pieces, depending on the brand, make, and model of the vehicle.

Custom grilles are available in quite a few designs. For example, vertical bar grilles highlight several straight, vertical pieces going along the length of the grille. There is also a mesh bordered design that has thick slabs of chrome or steel; and then, there are the billet grille designs that can include criss-cross or circular shapes, and other fabrications. Some even incorporate the truck’s insignia in the middle of the grille, although insignias can be ordered separately and later on attached to the grille.

If you have ever been frustrated by the lack of connection between the electrics in your car or thought that things could be simpler somehow, then getting a Bluetooth car audio system might make you feel better. Bluetooth, as we all know from our phones and wireless headsets, allows short distance communication between electronic items. In terms of car stereos, this means that you can link your mp3 player, phone or even your lap top to your stereo, making things a lot simpler.

Car Audio systems often suffer from the problem that transferring music into them can be difficult or time consuming. Even the traditional CDs and the older cassettes take up a lot of space that could be used for other purposes and it’s often nicer to listen to what you want, when you want to, rather than be at the mercy of radio DJs.

iPods and mp3 players require adaptors and possibly complicated rewiring of certain parts in order to plug them in; it’s the same with USBs. This leads to trailing cables that can easily get in your way or tangled up in each other.

Bluetooth car stereos eliminate the issues of in car phone calls by transferring all your contacts onto the display and even, in some cases, reading out the names so you don’t even need to look away from the road. They automatically mute the music in order to put calls through without you having to touch your phone. The technology is simple to use and efficient.

If your mp3 player doesn’t have Bluetooth though, it’s not a huge problem. Most Bluetooth stereo systems will have a jack ready for connection with mp3 players and iPods. This means that you do not need complicated adaptors, just simple linking cables. Or, if you prefer, there are Bluetooth adaptors that can be plugged into devices to link them up.

Solar powered post lights can prove extremely useful because one of the things they do, is help keep your car from being damaged. The basic idea is pretty simple actually. You’re done with work so you drive home. You arrive outside your house, and begin to make your way up your driveway. Maybe you have a gate you need to maneuver through, or maybe you don’t. Now on any given night you’ll probably make it to your garage without any problems. But maybe you’re tired or distracted, and suddenly you find that you’ve accidentally scratched the side of your car, by driving too close to one side of your gate. Or maybe you accidentally go off the driveway, and run up against a plant box or some other feature of your lawn or garden.

This is the sort of thing that might have been prevented, if you had some additional lighting on the sides of your gate, or alongside your driveway, since those lights might have helped to warn you that you were veering a little too far to the left or the right, or that you were straying to close to the edge of the gate. Now of course, you could always install convention lighting. Traditional light fixtures in the proper place would also get the job done of keeping you on course up the driveway. But for a task such as this, it can be argued that solar post lights end up doing a better job, for a number of reasons.
