The Customized Truck Grilles
When you come across a truck on the highway, the first thing that you will notice is usually the truck’s grille. The grille can be a stock, making it look ordinary; or it can be an awesome custom grille, leaving other truck enthusiasts saying, “Wow!” A truck’s grille can either leave a good or bad reaction among other motorists. Custom grilles, to be exact, will add to the physique as well as looks of your truck; from worst in show to best in show, so to speak.
A grille is not just for the sake of making it look good. It really has a purpose or function. When you are driving, dirt, dust, dead birds, huge insects and other debris are flying all over the road. The grille keeps some of the huge debris from entering the engine. Anything that goes past the bumper, the grille will catch. By replacing the stock grille with a customized one, you are adding to its purpose. Now it is not just some kind of filter, it’s an awesome type of filter.
Custom truck grilles can vary in design, style, and materials that are used to make the accessory. Some of the most common materials in making custom grilles are stainless steel, chrome or billet (a type of aluminum). Some truck operators or owners may prefer the fancier powder coated, wood grain or polished finish, whichever complements the whole design of the truck best. Custom grilles can come as a single unit, or in several pieces, depending on the brand, make, and model of the vehicle.
Custom grilles are available in quite a few designs. For example, vertical bar grilles highlight several straight, vertical pieces going along the length of the grille. There is also a mesh bordered design that has thick slabs of chrome or steel; and then, there are the billet grille designs that can include criss-cross or circular shapes, and other fabrications. Some even incorporate the truck’s insignia in the middle of the grille, although insignias can be ordered separately and later on attached to the grille.
